So everyone is making their own theories about the new versions Sun and Moon right? Guess I'll have a go at it too. My theory is, that the 6th gen + Sun and Moon are a trilogy. If one were to say, that all of them are related to Azoth then we suddenly get the true meaning behind the names for the new games. In many articles related to Azoth there are references to a Sun King and a Moon Queen. The first of these two is interesting in particular, when we think about the Kalos region being based on France. We actually have a king in that region, who goes by the name AZ. That name also makes sense, as it is part of Azoth and describes the One Thing. It relates to the Greek alpha and omega, the beginning and end of all things. Sound familiar? I guess it does.
Next thing to think about would be Zygarde, since the gen 6.5 people expected a Z version with it as the star. Well, this is where I assume an Azoth-Episode to take place. Indeed, something akin to the Delta-Episode in the remakes, which featured the third legendary of a trio and revealed lots of information about it. And it doesn't stop just there. When I tried to find if Volcanion fits with all this I found something interesting... "His Fire becomes Solar fire and his Water becomes Lunar water in our universe. Schamayim is the Universal Mercury or Azoth -- the measureless spirit of life. That original spiritual fiery water comes through Eden ("vapor" in Hebrew) and pours itself into the four main rivers of the four Elements."
The four elements mentioned before also have connections--> Air (Rayquaza) Water (Kyogre) Earth and Fire (Groudon). But the point I was getting at is, that basically thanks to Volcanion we have Fire and Water being connected to Sun and Moon. This might just mean, that Volcanion is reserved to be in the new games, similar to how we got Diancie in X/Y and Hoopa in OR/AS. If they go with the Delta-Episode as basis for it, we might even get a battle Perfect Zygarde vs Volcanion, which would be absolutely epic. Then again there is Magearna, which opens up even more possibilites.
This is getting kinda long so I'll finish this up by saying, that we might see parts of Kalos in the Azoth-Episode of Sun and Moon. It might happen, it might be just wishful thinking... but if it happens, I will get back to this and be like "Ha! Called it!"
Oh, and by the way, feel free to share your own thoughts and theories on the new generation. It's always interesting to see what others have to say on such things.
